now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation: * let us

The IntroitPsalm
32. Beati quorum.
BLESSED is he whose
unrighteousness is forgiven, * and whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth no sin, * and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3 For whilst I held my tongue, * my bones consumed away through my daily complaining.
4 For thy hand was heavy upon me day and night, * and my moisture was like the drought in summer.
5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee; * and mine unrighteousness have I not hid.
6 I said, I will confess my sins unto the LORD; * and so thou forgavest the wickedness of my sin.
7
For this shall every one that is godly make his prayer unto thee, in a time
when thou mayest be found; * surely1 the great water-floods shall
not come nigh him.
8 Thou art a place to hide me in; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; * thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
9 I will inform thee, and teach thee in the way wherein thou shalt go; * and I will guide thee with mine eye.
8 Thou art a place to hide me in; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; * thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
9 I will inform thee, and teach thee in the way wherein thou shalt go; * and I will guide thee with mine eye.
10
Be ye not like to horse and mule, which have no understanding; * whose mouths
must be held with bit and bridle, else they will not obey thee.
11 Great plagues remain for the ungodly; * but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD, mercy embraceth him on every side.
12 Be glad, O ye righteous, and rejoice in the LORD; * and be joyful, all ye that are true of heart.
11 Great plagues remain for the ungodly; * but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD, mercy embraceth him on every side.
12 Be glad, O ye righteous, and rejoice in the LORD; * and be joyful, all ye that are true of heart.

The Tract Ps 91:9-16
10 There shall no evil happen unto thee, / neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, / to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee in their hands, / that thou hurt not thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: / the young lion and the dragon shalt thou tread under thy feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him; / I will set him up, because he hath known my Name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will hear him: / yea, I am with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and bring him to honour.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, / and show him my salvation.

O ALMIGHTY God, who hast committed to the hands of men the
ministry of reconciliation: We humbly beseech thee, by the inspiration of thy
Holy Spirit, to put it into the hearts of many to offer themselves for this
ministry; that thereby mankind may be drawn to thy blessed kingdom; through Jesus
Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Epistle. Exodus 24:12-18
THE LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be
there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which
I have written; that thou mayest teach them. And Moses rose up, and his
minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God. And he said unto the
elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron
and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto
them. And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the
glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days:
and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the
sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount
in the eyes of the children of Israel. And Moses went into the midst of the
cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and
forty nights.
The Gospel. St. Matthew 20:17-28.
JESUS going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the
way, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man
shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall
condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to
scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again. Then came
to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and
desiring a certain thing of him. And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She
saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right
hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. But Jesus answered and said,
Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of,
and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him,
We are able. And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be
baptized with the baptism I that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right
hand, and I on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for
whom it is prepared of my Father. And when the ten heard it, they were moved
with indignation against the two brethren. But Jesus called them unto him, and
said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and
they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among
you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your 16 minister; and
whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of
man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a
ransom for many.

The Epistle, i Kings 19:1-8
AHAB told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had
slain all the prophets with the sword. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto
Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life
as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time. And when he saw that,
he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beer-heba, which belongeth to
Judah, and left his servant there. But he himself went a day's journey into the
wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree: and he requested for
himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my
life; for I am not better than my fathers. And as he lay and slept under a broom
tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And
he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of
water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. And the
angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise
and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. And he arose, and did eat
and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights
unto Horeb the mount of God.
The Gospel. St. Matthew 21:33-44.
JESUS said: There was a certain householder, which u planted a vineyard,
and hedged it round about, and digged a wine-press in it, and built a tower,
and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country: and when the time of
the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might
receive the fruits of it. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one,
and killed another, and stoned another. Again, he sent other servants more than
the first: and they did unto them likewise. But last of all he sent unto them
his son, saying, They will reverence my son. But when the husbandmen saw the
son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and
let us seize on his inheritance. And they caught him, and cast him out of the
vineyard, and slew him. When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what
will he do unto those husbandmen? They say unto him, He will Miserably destroy
those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which
shall render him the fruits in their seasons. Jesus saith unto them, Did ye
never read in the scriptures, Thestone which the builders rejected, the same is
become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous
in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of Gqd shall be taken from
you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever
shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it
will grind him to powder.

The Epistle. 2 Corinthians 3:4-18.
SUCH confidence have we through Christ to God-ward: not that we
are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our
sufficiency is from God; who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new
covenant; the Spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death written, and
engraven on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not
look stedfastly upon the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which glory
was passing away: how shall not rather the ministration of the spirit be with
glory? For if the ministration of condemnation is glory, much rather doth the ministration
of righteousness exceed in glory. For verily that which hath been made glorious
in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasseth. For if that which passeth
away was with glory, much more that which remaineth is in glory. Having
therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech, and are not as Moses,
who put a veil upon his face, that the children of Israel should not look
stedfastly on the end of that which was passing away: but their minds were hardened:
for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil
remaineth unlifted; which veil is. done away in Christ. But unto this day,
whensoever Moses is read, a veil lieth upon their heart. But whensoever a man shall
turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where
the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face
reflecting as a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same
image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.
The Gospel. St. Luke 9:28-36.
AND it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took
Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. And as he
prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white
and glistering. And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses
and Elias: who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should
accomplish at Jerusalem. But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with
sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood
with him. And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus,
Master,. it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one
for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. While
he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as
they entered into the cloud. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying,
This is my beloved Son: hear him. And when the voice was past, Jesus was found
alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things
which they had seen.
