The Introit Ps 139:1-11
O LORD, thou hast searched me out, and known me. *
Thou knowest my down-sitting, and mine uprising; thou understandest my thoughts
long before.
2 Thou art about my path, and about my bed;
* and art acquainted with all my ways.
3 For lo, there is not a word in my tongue, * but thou, O LORD, knowest it altogether.
3 For lo, there is not a word in my tongue, * but thou, O LORD, knowest it altogether.
4 Thou hast beset me behind and before, *
and laid thine hand upon me.
5 Such knowledge is too wonderful and excellent for me; * I cannot attain unto it.
6 Whither shall I go then from thy Spirit? * or whither shall I go then from thy presence?
7 If I climb up into heaven, thou art there; * if I go down to hell, thou art there also.
8 If I take the wings of the morning, * and remain in the uttermost parts of the sea;
9 Even there also shall thy hand lead me, * and thy right hand shall hold me.
10 If I say, Peradventure the darkness shall cover me; * then shall my night be turned to day.
11 Yea, the darkness is no darkness with thee, but the night is as clear as the day; * the darkness and light to thee are both alike.
5 Such knowledge is too wonderful and excellent for me; * I cannot attain unto it.
6 Whither shall I go then from thy Spirit? * or whither shall I go then from thy presence?
7 If I climb up into heaven, thou art there; * if I go down to hell, thou art there also.
8 If I take the wings of the morning, * and remain in the uttermost parts of the sea;
The Collect.
O ALMIGHTY God, whose blessed So did
sanctify Mary Magdalene, and call her to be a witness to his Resurrection:
Mercifully grant that by thy grace we may be healed of all our infirmities, and
serve thee in the power of his endless life; who with thee and the Holy Ghost
liveth and reigneth, one God, world without end. Amen.
The Epistle. 2 Corinthians 5:14-18.
FOR the love of Christ constraineth
us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and
that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto
themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore
henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ
after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore if any man
be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to
himself by Jesus Christ.
The Gradual Ps 30:1-5
I WILL magnify thee, O LORD; for thou hast set me up, *
and not made my foes to triumph over me.
2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee; * and thou hast healed me.
2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee; * and thou hast healed me.
3 Thou, LORD, hast brought my soul out of
hell: * thou hast kept my life, that I should not go down into the pit.
4 Sing praises unto the LORD, O ye saints of his; * and give thanks unto him, for a remembrance of his holiness.
5 For his wrath endureth but the twinkling of an eye, and in his pleasure is life; * heaviness may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
4 Sing praises unto the LORD, O ye saints of his; * and give thanks unto him, for a remembrance of his holiness.
5 For his wrath endureth but the twinkling of an eye, and in his pleasure is life; * heaviness may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
The Gospel. St. John 20:1, n-i8.
THE first day of the week cometh Mary
Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone
taken away from the sepulchre. But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping:
and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, and seeth two
angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where
the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them,
Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing,
and knew not that it was Jesus. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou?
whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir,
if thou ave borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take
him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him,
Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am
not yet as-cended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I
ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Mary
Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had
seen the Lord, and that he had spoken
these things unto her.

The Collect.
O ETERNAL Lord God, who boldest all
souls in life: We beseech thee to shed forth upon thy whole Church in paradise
and on earth the bright beams of thy light and thy peace; and grant that we,
following the good examples of thy servant Thomas, and of all those who loved
and served thee here, may at the last enter with
them into thine unending ]oy; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
